This treatment should be repeated each time the spa or hot tub is drained and refilled with fresh water. Use a floating tablet feeder or automatic brominator installed on the spa equipment to introduce 3 tablets per 300 gallons of spa water. Adjust the tablet feeder or brominator to maintain an active bromine residual of at least 2 ppm. Keep the spa well-maintained by adding 3 tablets per 300 gallons every 5-7 days, or as necessary, to ensure an active bromine residual of 2 ppm at all times.

Cloudiness and foaming in spa water are often the result of use and the accumulation of body fats, oils, and contaminants that are too small for filtration equipment to remove. This issue is also linked to the rapid increase of total dissolved solids in the water. Defoamers, clarifiers, shock treatments, demineralizers, and sequestering agents can be used to address these problems. If water clarification cannot be achieved, it may be necessary to drain, clean, and refill the spa.
