The initial step for using this product in your spa or hot tub is to add 1/2 oz. of sodium bromide for every 100 gallons of water. This same process should be repeated every time the spa or hot tub is drained and refilled with fresh water. Using a floating tablet feeder or automatic brominator installed on the spa equipment, introduce 3 tablets per 300 gallons of spa water. Adjust the tablet feeder or brominator to maintain an active bromine residual of at least 2 ppm.

In order to maintain the spa, add 3 tablets per 300 gallons every 5-7 days, or as necessary to sustain an active bromine residual of 2 ppm consistently. The use of the spa can cause the water to foam and become cloudy, which is directly related to usage. Cloudiness occurs due to the accumulation of body fats, oils, and contaminants that are too small for the filtration equipment to remove, leading to a rapid increase in total dissolved solids in the water.

To address this, defoamers, clarifiers, as well as shock treatments and demineralizers, or sequestering agents can be utilized to clear the water. If water clarification cannot be achieved, the spa should be drained, cleaned, and refilled. Using a floating tablet feeder, introduce 3 tablets per 300 gallons of spa water. Maintenance involves adding 3 tablets per 300 gallons every 5-7 days or as needed.

Before initially using this product in your spa or hot tub, 1/2 oz. of sodium bromide should be added for every 100 gallons of water. Bromine is a great alternative to chlorine for sanitizing spa or hot tub water, as it does not produce as much of an odor compared to chlorine.
